What to Do if you Need an On The Day or Routine Appointment
Immediate action required: Call 999 or go to A&E now if:
- you or someone you know needs immediate help
- you have seriously harmed yourself – for example, by taking a drug overdose
A mental health emergency should be taken as seriously as a medical emergency.

For Routine or Urgent Appointments please either:
- Submit an eConsult either using the link in the website or on the NHS App
- Telephone the practice on 02392 550220
- Come in and speak to a receptionist.
- You can book Blood Tests, some immunisations and vaccinations and cervical smears appointments on the NHS App
eConsults can also be used for requesting Sick/Fit notes orother administration queries.
Please note eConsults sent after 4pm may not be triaged the same day.
All eConsults received or appointments requested are reviewed by our clinical team.
The team will advise if you need
- Some tests done.
- A Face to Face Appointment or a Telephone Appointment. This appointment may be with a Doctor, Nurse or a member of our PCN Team.
- Or you may be directed to another service such as Pharmacy First. Read more information on Pharmacy First.
All appointment requests are dealt with in the same way by the clinical team.
Our Extended Hours Team at the Forton Surgery Hub offer appointments between
- Monday to Friday 6:30pm to 8:00pm
- Saturdays 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Our Reception Team can also book the following appointments for you with the Extended Hours Team:
- Cervical Smears
- Blood Tests
- Dressing Changes
The service has locally-based healthcare professionals, GPs, nurse practitioners, nurses and healthcare assistants. The staff can access your medical records, ensuring a high quality service.
Please give a phone number that you will be available on as the clinician will only be able to try to contact you twice.
